We’re proud to share that Peaskie Minerals was recently featured in DOB Energy, highlighting our aggressive expansion plans and commitment to supplying locally mined frac sand to Alberta and British Columbia’s energy sector.
Record Growth and Expansion
Our production has more than doubled from 500,000 tonnes annually to 1.1 million tonnes in 2024, with targets of 2.6 million tonnes by 2026 and 3.2 million tonnes by 2027. This growth is supported by our substantial reserves at Opal—over 100 million tonnes of frac materials, enough for decades of production.
As CEO Keith Arsenault emphasized, “We want the pumpers and E&Ps to know that we’re open for business.” Our strategic network of processing facilities and transload terminals in Edson, Grande Prairie, and Beaverlodge positions us to serve Western Canada’s most prolific plays.
B.C. Market Expansion
We’re expanding into British Columbia with plans to increase Beaverlodge capacity by 300,000 tonnes annually and explore a new one million-tonne facility in the Fort St. John area—a potential $25-30 million investment.
Alberta Success Story
From our founding as Mill Creek Sand and Gravel in 1980 to becoming Peaskie Minerals in 2004, we’ve grown into a leading Canadian frac sand supplier while maintaining our family business values. The Oleksyn brothers continue to lead with dedication, supported by strong government and community partnerships.
Our locally sourced sand offers competitive pricing, reliable supply security, and quality performance. With frac sand now representing 85% of our business, we’re well-positioned for continued growth while supporting Alberta communities through employment and investment.
