Mill Creek Sand & Gravel (1980) Ltd. is a mining company with over 40 years of experience focused on processing and manufacturing aggregates for the Western Canadian markets. The main facility is based in Redwater, AB, but the Business Development Manager will be based out of Calgary, AB, with a remote work environment.

The Role

The Business Development Manager- Proppant & Aggregate Sales is responsible for driving business and market share growth in the Proppant and Aggregate industries. With established contacts in the Proppant and Aggregate sectors the candidate will develop and execute effective sales strategies, cultivate strong client relationships, and monitor market trends to stay informed on competitor activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs while providing effective solutions
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities for growth
  • Meeting existing and potential clients and building positive relationships
  • Identify market opportunities through meetings, networking and other channels
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals and objectives
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Developing quotes, proposals and sales presentations for potential clients
  • Create development plans, forecasting sales targets and growth projections
  • Monitor sales progress to ensure that corporate goals are being met
  • Other duties as may be required

Skills, Education, & Knowledge

  • Relevant business/marketing degree is preferred
  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in energy sales or a related industry
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Advanced written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Outgoing personality with strong organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of business and sales growth techniques
  • Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

Transload Team Lead (Edson, AB)

About Us

Peaskie Minerals Inc. is a premier supplier of domestically sourced proppants and silica flour to the West Central Sedimentary Basin (WCSB). Our transload facility is located just outside of Edson, Alberta.

Please note this is NOT a camp position. Candidates must live in the area or be willing to commute.

Position: Transload Team Lead

Terms of Employment: Full Time, Permanent

Rate: $34.91/hourly – $42.31/hourly, Overtime after 8 hours per day

Schedule: 5 on 2 off Days and Nights- 6:00 am – 4:30 pm

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative functions including aiding in creation and maintenance of shift schedules, reviewing daily time sheets, and maintaining equipment and inspection logs
  • Brief crew members about how daily tasks need to be carried out
  • Observe work of employees to confirm correctness of behaviors against expectations/procedures and report any concerns to Manager, Logistics
  • Handle onsite incidents and emergencies in a proactive manner and reporting all information to Manager, Logistics
  • Oversee and ensure that all safety rules are being always followed at all sites
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may happen on site quickly and amicably with Manager support
  • Advise plant crew of operation and/or maintenance schedules
  • Ensure general cleanliness of the facility is upheld
  • Order supplies as required and manage on-hand material allocation with manager direction
  • Carry out preventative maintenance inspection schedule for all equipment mobile and stationery
  • Repair mechanical issues and troubleshoot plant issues at direction of Manager, Logistics
  • Verify crew is on site on time and fit for duty to start operations
  • Provide and monitor training for crew members through mentoring, cross training, cross-shift and toolbox meetings
  • Monitor load and unload times and report inconsistencies to Manager, Logistics
  • Performs pre and post shift inspections and reports condition of plant for items needing repair to Manage, Logistics
  • Shift coverage during rest breaks
  • Must ensure a solid understanding of, and comply with the principles of the company’s Code of Ethics
  • Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Training

  • Valid Class 5 Drivers’ License

Experience

  • Possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in a commercial/industrial construction setting
  • Experience at an asphalt and/or sand and gravel plant is considered an asset
  • 2+ years in industrial plant operation is considered an asset
  • 2+ years in a leadership role
