About Us

Peaskie Minerals is a premier supplier of domestically sourced proppants and silica flour to the West Central Sedimentary Basin (WCSB). Our facility is located approximately 12 km north of Redwater or a 45-minute drive from north Edmonton.

Please note this is NOT a camp position. Candidates must live in the area or be willing to commute.

Hours of Work: Monday – Friday / 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Wage Rate: $49.37/hour

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  • Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions
  • Adjusting machinery and repairing and/or replacing defective parts
  • Reading and interpreting diagrams and schematic drawings, blueprints, and manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects
  • Participating in the preventative maintenance program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines
  • Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance, or set-up of machineries
  • Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts (often within a fraction of a millimeter tolerance).
  • Service and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, and programmable logic controls
  • May do some tack welding and fabrication as well as maintain inventory of replacement parts
  • Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications, and installations
  • Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and performing other routine maintenance work on machineries
  • May operate mobile equipment such as front-end loaders, forklifts, skid-steer loaders, man lifts and overhead cranes
  • Performs area housekeeping duties and may perform work area and safety audits
  • Monitor and document testing in log book
  • Performs pre and post shift inspections and reports condition of plant for items needing repair
  • Must examine situations in light of the principles of the Code of Ethics
  • Performs other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Training:

  • Journeyman Certificate in the Millwright trade in the Province of Alberta
  • CWB Certificate is considered an asset
  • Class 5 Drivers’ License with clean drivers’ abstract

Experience:

  • 3 – 5 year of experience in an industrial setting.
  • Minimum 3 years of mechanical experience in millwright activities in a process, manufacturing, and/or mining environment.
  • Mig and Stick welding experience is considered as asset.
  • Mechanical experience on a rotary dryer is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the mining or aggregate industry is considered an asset.

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented CapEx and Maintenance Planner to join our operations team. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of mining and processing equipment and facilities by developing and managing maintenance schedules, coordinating planned work, and supporting preventive and predictive maintenance programs.

You will collaborate with maintenance, operations, engineering, and supply chain teams to optimize scheduling outcomes in line with company goals and strategies.

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed short-term and long-term maintenance schedules for fixed equipment.
  • Plan and coordinate all maintenance activities, including preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, technicians, and operations staff to minimize downtime and optimize equipment availability.
  • Ensure all maintenance work orders are accurately scoped, prioritized, and executed on time.
  • Monitor job progress and update plans to reflect scope changes, field conditions, or emergency work.
  • Track and analyze maintenance data to identify trends, equipment issues, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop, maintain and manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring all data is up to date and accurate.
  • Create, issue, and manage work orders in CMMS and ensure accurate documentation of executed work.
  • Order and manage spare parts and materials required for scheduled maintenance.
  • Prepare detailed job plans, including labor, materials, equipment, tools, and safety requirements.
  • Support root cause analysis and reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards in all maintenance activities.

Education & Training:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years experience in maintenance planning/scheduling, preferably in a mining, heavy industrial, or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance practices, equipment reliability, and asset management.
  • Proficient in CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Pronto, or similar).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, and schematics.
  • Understanding of safety and environmental regulations related to mining operations

Experience:

  • Experience in sand mining or aggregate processing industry.
  • Familiarity with Lean Maintenance and Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles.
  • Certification in maintenance planning or reliability (e.g., CMRP) is an asset.
